2 adults, 4 children hurt in rollover accident

RCSOOn 10/11/2013 at 1801 hrs the RCCC received a call reporting a one vehicle roll over injury accident that occurred on the East Frontage Rd north of CTH C/ Spring St in the Village of Mt. Pleasant, Racine County. Responding Deputy’s located the vehicle in the ditch line between the East frontage Rd and I-94 with the vehicle laying on its roof and multiple people outside of the vehicle and injured.

Preliminary investigation showed the vehicle was north bound on the East Frontage Rd when the vehicles rear passenger side wheel came off the vehicle causing it to go into the west ditch line hitting a drainage culvert causing the vehicle to roll multiple times. During the vehicle rolling the 25 yr old male driver was partially ejected, the 24 yr old front seat passenger was ejected from the vehicle as well as a 1 yr old male from the rear seat of the SUV. There were also three other children all under the age of 6 that were in the rear seat of the vehicle that were not in the proper safety seats for the children. All the vehicle occupants were transported to Wheaton Franciscan Hospital by South Shore Rescue and Fire with the assistance of Union Grove and Caledonia Rescue Squads. Mt Pleasant Police and the Wisconsin State Patrol also assisted with traffic control for the accident.

Injuries caused by this accident are still being evaluated at the time of this press release but do not appear to be life threatening.

This accident remains under investigation. No names are being released as this is an ongoing investigation.
