According to the criminal complaint, the Greater Racine Gang Task Force (GRGTF), made controlled purchases with cooperating citizens from the suspects starting on August 2, 2013. Following the last purchase of cocaine and heroin on August 22, 2013, Investigators from the Racine Police Department executed a traffic top of Britt at 12th Street and Washington Avenue. The suspect allegedly immediately tried to swallow items that were later recovered by officers and found to be a baggie of cocaine that weighed 13.2 grams and tested positive for the presence of cocaine. They also found in his shirt pocket 4 additional baggies of cocaine that weighed 2.2 grams all together and 2.1 grams of a substance that tested positive for heroin as well. The defendant was also carrying in his pants pocket over 100 gem bags and $2,416.00, says the criminal complaint.
Search warrants were issued and executed at at two residences associated with the suspect and his sales of drugs. The first was in the 900 block of Washington Avenue. Located there was a baggie of a substance that tested positive for THC and weighed 82.3 grams, four knotted baggies that tested positive for cocaine and weighed .9 grams; a black plate with cocaine residue, a Pyrex bowl with cocaine residue and what appeared to be cocaine splatter inside a microwave; a .22 rifle; mail with the suspects name on it; and 28 clear sandwich baggies with the corners removed.
Investigators then responded to a residents in the 900 block of Grand Avenue, where the defendant was know to rent a room there. Inside the room rented by the defendant they located a plate on the floor with a knotted baggie containing 4.6 grams of a substance that tested positive for cocaine; in a safe in the room they located two baggies that contained a green leafy substance that tested positive for THC. The bags weighed 56.5 grams and 28.5 grams; numerous baggies with the corners missing and gem bags that matched those in the suspects pocket; identifying mail and medications.
