policelightThe Mount Pleasant Patch is reporting that Mount Pleasant police are asking for the public’s help locating the people they say chased a car full of teenagers, then smashed the windows of the car and beat one of the teens with a baseball bat.

According to a written release from MPPD, officers were dispatched at 3:13 a.m. to the 1200 block of Rosalind Avenue for reports of a silver car and a dark pick-up driving recklessly through the Lake Park neighborhood. Dispatch also advised that calls were coming in about individuals running through yards with baseball bats.

When officers arrived on scene, they located the silver car, a Dodge Neon, that had windows smashed out. Three 17-year-old occupants, all from the Racine area, told police they had been chased by the pick-up truck.

They turned down a dead end street and got stuck in the snow. The occupants of the pick-up got out and smashed the windows of the car with baseball bats.

The teens told officers one of them was dragged from the car and beaten with a bat. He had a laceration to his head and was transported to Wheaton Franciscan St. Mary’s for treatment.

Police say the teens told them they didn’t know the people in the pick-up.

The suspects are still at large, and the incident remains under investigation.
