Man Charged After Allegedly Masturbating In Library

A 20 year old Racine man is free on a $1,000 signature bond and according to circuit court records-Conditions: Stay out of all the Library’s on the face of the Earth. Make all court appearances on time. Failure to appear will result in the issuance of a warrant for your arrest, possible bail jumping charges and forfeiture of any bond on deposit.

Tyree S. Carter, of Racine is charged with one count of LEWD AND LASCIVIOUS BEHAVIOR and one count of Disorderly Conduct after Racine Police were called to the Racine Public Library for a male party allegedly masturbating in the adult section. Officers were sent to the library after a complainant called and notified them that a male party was masturbating facing the main aisles and not trying to conceal what he was allegedly doing. Officers spoke with the suspect and asked if he knew of any reason why library employees would contact police about him. He stated to officers according to the criminal complaint he had no idea but when he was told that people saw him masturbating he allegedly apologized. The criminal complaint states that he was taken into custody without incident and according to reports he
“did not finish his business”. He is scheduled to appear on April 11 at 3:15 p.m. for a pre-trial conference.
