With friends like this…who needs enemies?
Susan L. Flick, 48, was charged in Racine County Circuit Court Wednesday with one count of felony identity theft. If convicted, she faces up to three years in prison and $10,000 in fines.
According to the criminal complaint, on Jan. 17, the victim’s family contacted the Racine Police Department after he noticed Flick had been making with drawls from the victim’s checking account while he was in the hospital. When officers were investigating and speaking to the victim, it was discovered Flick had been helping the victim with his banking and alerted the men they would only be able to look into the with drawls made while the victim was in the hospital because there was no way for him to give consent.
The family members also discovered an insurance document listing Flick as the victim’s fiancee and beneficiary, which they said wasn’t the case. Reports indicate that Flick told officers she had made with drawls with the consent of the victim and knew his debit card and PIN number. She said the money was used for expenses for the victim while he was in the hospital.
