Donte D. Shannon was charged in Racine County Circuit Court Thursday with one count of second-offense possession of THC, the active ingredient in marijuana, and one count of operating a motor vehicle after revocation of his license. According to the criminal complaint, on Thursday, a Wisconsin state trooper was monitoring traffic at Highway 20 near the crossover from Hunter Drive when she spotted Shannon heading eastbound with a bad muffler. She followed him as he turned right onto Highway 31, then pulled him over.
Shannon had three passengers in the car and no drivers license, so he asked if one of the other people could keep driving the car. The trooper reported, however, that during the conversation she smelled raw marijuana.
The trooper then ran checks on everyone, Celeste Robinson, 23, had a warrant out for her arrest. The trooper ordered her out of the car and placed her under arrest. Reports indicate that Robinson told the trooper she had a bag of marijuana in her underwear, she stated it belonged to Shannon. Shannon was placed under arrest, and the trooper went back to the car and asked the other two occupants if there was anything inside she needed to know about. They supposedly handed her a bottle of vodka that had been partially drank.
Shannon is currently in Racine County Jail on $1,000 bond while awaiting trial.
