According to the criminal complaint, at 6:30 a.m. Oct. 16, Mount Pleasant police were called to Walmart after security officers said Humpa came into the store and stole a Samsung tablet valued at $398. Security said Humpa also came into the store at 2:57 a.m., walking around and placing things by a backpack while smoking a cigarette.
He took the tablet just before police were called, then walked down a nearby hill away from the store.
At 11:09 a.m. Thursday, officers were called back to the store after staff said they caught him trying to steal $107 in goods. Humpa had an X-Acto knife in his pocket and said he stole the items because he’s homeless and hungry.Share on Facebook
