BUSTED!-Armed robbery in the 2200 block of Layard

Racine Police are on scene in the 2200 block of Layard and also the 1700 block of Blake. 911 calls came in that a young black male about 19 years old robbed a male party in the 2200 block of Layard. Caller was on the phone with dispatch following the suspect who ran into the 1700 block of Blake. The suspect threw his coat down and also the black revolver used in the robbery. Officers responded immediately to the area and after a short search, the suspect was found hiding in a garage in the 1700 block of Blake. No injures were reported. The wife of the victim chased the suspect after he assaulted her and robbed her husband and stayed on the phone with 911 dispatchers the entire time. More evidence was found in the 1600 block of Rapids

The suspect, the gun are in police custody! The suspect stole, money, medicine, a cell phone and a digital camera

  1. I saw this punk running through some yards. He was trying to jump a fence on Rapids Dr. but he got hung up by his big blue winter coat. I looked right at him and he at me. I didn’t know he was armed. Good Job RPD!
