The Milwaukee Police investigation into the shooting of a Police Officer continues today, as detectives continue to conduct numerous witness interviews and gather the facts as to what occurred.
The Milwaukee Police Department has interviewed all known witnesses who observed the incident. Portions of the struggle were videotaped by a citizen with a cell phone. We have that evidentiary video, we are reviewing it and it will be released when appropriate. While the investigation continues, we can say that the video shows officers using reasonable force on a resisting subject.
We will be seeking charges against the suspect, age 24, for Recklessly Endangering Safety for shooting the officer with an officer’s gun.
