Family Dollar on Rapids Drive Robbed

Racine Police are on scene investigating a robbery that just occurred within the past 15 minutes at Family Dollar located in the 2300 block of Rapids. Suspect is described as a black male, 50′s-60′s year old, wearing a gray hoodie and jeans. Witnesses state that it appeared he has no teeth and was wearing large dark sunglasses. The suspect did appear to have something under his shirt, witnesses did see a gun displayed, the suspect threatened to shoot people. He left with an unknown amount of money and was seen running towards the buildings on Layard with a Pick N Save bag. Squads are searching the area and also out at the scene.

  1. I was in there once about 6 years ago and the Cashier actually warned me to be careful because of the criminals.

    She went into telling me that she actually fears for her life especially when locking the place up. That is crazy. Pretty sad when you take a job that puts you in a situation where you have fear. She was not just some nut case either. I am pretty sure that she was doing whatever it took to put food on the table.
