Shooting at temple in Oak Creek-7 dead including shooter

11:00 a.m.- Multiple jurisdictions including Oak Creek PD, Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Dept, South Milwaukee Police, Franklin Police and other jurisdictions are on scene for a multiple shooting. Radio reports that they are out at the Sikh Temple Of Wisconsin 7512 S Howell Ave, Oak Creek, WI 53154 for multiple victims that were shot including possibly an Oak Creek Police Officer and up to 10 possible victims. Suspect is still at large, white male, large build, white sleeveless tshirt last seen with 2 guns. Mutual aid has been called in from all jurisdictions including the Racine County. Med 11 was dispatched, perimeter has been set up around the area. All available officers and SWAT team members are to report immediately from that jurisdiction. Unknown if there are casualties or the extent of injuries to victims. This is breaking now and more information to follow as it becomes available.
11:19 a.m. – There are still allegedly 15-20 citizens inside the church, witnesses report there are injured parties, unable to contact people inside at this time
11:26 a.m. – Reports state that the FBI is involved now, they are contacting all churches in the area to warn them, appears the suspect is still on the large, Flight for Life staging on Hwy 38.
11:36 a.m. – Reports are now saying up to 20 people could be shot and injured at this time.
11:39 a.m. – Family members are beginning to arrive on scene.
11:47 a.m. – Call has been upgrade to a SMART response, all available officers are being called in. SWAT TEAM was called in earlier along with K9 units, armored vehicles are on scene too along with FBI agents. Racine County Sheriff’s is also en route.
12:06 p.m. – Initial reports are coming in stating that up to 4 parties could be dead they are located in the parking lot(channel 4), officer that was shot during an exchange of gunfire should be ok.
12:10 p.m. – Hospitals are on standby waiting for victims, reports state that there are still victims inside the temple
12:17 p.m. – Other news sources are reporting that this is a hostage situation and the gunman may still be inside with hostages (channel 12 and channel 4). People are injured inside and that LEO and EMS have not gotten inside yet
12:38 p.m. – Additional reports are coming in (from other media outlets) that there are hostage negotiations going on, there is a suspect still inside the church, other agencies reporting that there were 2 suspects. They have turned off the natural gas connection to the building, there had been some type of small fire that was put out on the stove.
12:51 p.m. – Unconfirmed reports that there are residents from Racine that are members of this temple and may be injured or still inside
12:59 p.m. – The Police Chief of Greenfield is the PIO for this situation. There is one suspect/shooter down that was shot when the first officer had arrived and is down at the scene. Officer was shot multiple times but is expected to be ok.
1:05 p.m. – Froedert Hospital is saying that there were 3 patients stating that 1 in ICU, one in ICU surgical unit and one victim just arrived. All male parties. Officer is again expected to be ok.
1:24 P.M. – A Racine resident is reporting that his uncle is one of the victims that was shot. Greenfield Police are now guarding a mosque in their area.
1:37 p.m. – Washington D.C. has just released an official statement
1:42 p.m. – Joint Terrorism Task Force is on scene along with other federal agencies
1:46 p.m. – Tactical units have gone through some of the building, 3 dead outside (the shooter being one of them), 4 dead inside. No confirmation that there were multiple suspects, building is said to be secured
