WISN NEWS is reporting that Waukesha Police report that a train struck a pedestrian Friday, and nearby intersections in the city will be blocked for a time this afternoon.

Capt. Ron Oremus said that police were called to the area of South West and Progress avenues just before noon for a report of a train striking a pedestrian.

Oremus said investigators determined the incident was a suicide.

Due to the ongoing investigation, Oremus said railroad crossings at South West and Progress Avenues and Sunset Drive will be blocked until at least 2 p.m.

Police are advising motorists to use Highway 53 as an alternate route across the tracks.
