RPD release-Shooting 1700 blk of N. Wisconsin

On July 26th at about midnight officers were dispatched to the 1700 block of N. Wisconsin St. for a report of a man who had been shot. Officers responded, but the victim was not located. At about 12:15 A.M. a 21 year old victim arrived at Wheaton-Franciscan All Saints Emergency Room with a gunshot wound to both his legs. The injury is not life threatening. The victim was treated for his injury and released. He was then transported to the Racine County Jail for unrelated outstanding warrants for his arrest.

When officers arrived in the area of the 1700 block of Wisconsin St. there were a large number of people. Witnesses report a party had taken place at a home in the 1700 block of N. Wisconsin St. and as the party was “breaking up” several gunshots were heard.

There are no further details to release at this time and the investigation of this incident is ongoing.
