Arson is usually done to collect fire insurance on problem buildings. Given that there are hundreds of abandoned homes and empty rentals – this may be a possibility. The poor condition of many homes in Racine’s inner city make them a target for arson.

the bar didnt burn down at all! It did sustain water & smoke damage but It was the building next to the bar that burned down-its the 3rd building from the corner & If I had to make a guess- INSURANCE fraud is the only 2 words that come to mind. WHy? Because about a year ago or so nick’s upper apartment was on fire, than that 3rd building from the corner (also nicks), & now 1 of his houses? hmmm, anyone with any education can put 1,2,3 together!!!

The building was purchased in 2007 for $79,000 and is assessed at $67,000 for 2012. Today, you probably couldn’t get $40,000 for it – PRE-FIRE.
That means the owner is underwater.

Golden that happens to be the old Avenue bar that burned down if I’m not mistaken and it also did more damage to the store after the fire in his upper apartment, and to the Winners Circle Bar next to it.

It was a vacant building that started on fire a few months ago, the bar next door suffered smoke and water damage, let the authorities do their investigation
