Racine police are out at 13th & Lathrop after getting calls that an older female driver, drove her vehicle into 4 inches of wet cement. Officers have the street blocked off, the woman is not injured and was told to stay in her vehicle until a tow arrives. Radio reports that the entire vehicle is in cement and it’s about 4 inches deep. Officer requested a tow to the scene immediately to get the woman and vehicle out.
4:39 p.m. – Tow is on scene removing the vehicle.

someone needs to have the discussion with Grandma, if you can’t tell a blocked off portion of wet cement how can you tell a child from a floater in your eye?
getting old stinks, but you must be responsible and not careless when it gets to this point

well im sure it was becuase of the rain but i was going down lathrop yesterday and they didnt have a road closed sign up at the time and so i thought it was still 2 way and a guy came outta the ground and yelled dont you see the road is closed there was no sign! well this morning on my way to school i seen they have a road closed sign up now…. soo its not just the old ladys fault lol

cam – if true that’s a HORRIFIC accident waiting to happen, what the heck is DPW doing NOT putting up signs? i mean are they all out of signs with all the other construction? maybe some of the a-frame dealies and caution tape at least…
and yeah, i feel for the lady, wasn’t trying to BLAME her
