Racine Police Dept-Gateway Tech College sexual assault

Subject: Sexual Assault-Gateway Technical College
Victim: 36 year old female from Racine Person of Interest: 26 year old man from Racine
On February 21st, 2012 at about 11:30 A.M. the Racine Police Department responded to a report of a sexual assault at Gateway Technical College in Racine (1001 S. Main St). A 36 year old woman reported the suspect followed her into a restroom in the Lake building on campus. The suspect then sexually assaulted the victim in the woman’s bathroom. The suspect then left the restroom and the campus.

A detailed and specific description of the bicycle utilized by the suspect was obtained. On February 22nd, around 12:40 P.M. an investigator observed an individual who closely matched the description of the suspect, riding a bicycle matching the suspect’s, in the area of State St. and North Memorial Dr. The 26 year old man was stopped and transported to the Racine Police Department

A 26 year old man has been taken into custody and is considered a person of interest in this incident. This investigation is ongoing and no further information will be released at this time.
